Rekis comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Kingsley has chosen Alpenglow (instrumental) - Nightwish as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Kingsley!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rekis takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rekis is defended easily by Kingsley.
Rekis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
James Kingsley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rekis gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kingsley controlling the position for now.
Kingsley wants to get back to full guard but Rekis has mounted him!
Kingsley holds on to Rekis around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Rekis prevents Kingsley from getting the reversal.

Rekis is in the full mount, landing strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kingsley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Rekis preventing the sweep.
Rekis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kingsley's head.
Kingsley is adopting a defensive guard.

Kingsley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rekis defends it easily.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kingsley holds on and takes a little breather.
Kingsley is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rekis is controlling him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rekis working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kingsley pulls Rekis in close to prevent any damage.
Rekis throws a big right hand that misses.

Kingsley is pulling down on Rekis's head. It's preventing any offense from Rekis, at least for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rekis stands up over Kingsley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Rekis wants to control from the top but Kingsley keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Rekis dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kingsley lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kingsley misses with a hook. Rekis ducked under it nicely.
Kingsley finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rekis tries to work over Kingsley's front leg with a kick but Kingsley checks it.
Rekis shoots in and drives through. Kingsley sprawls well.
Kingsley throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kingsley scores with a hook to the body. Rekis takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rekis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kingsley.
Rekis throws a sloppy head kick
letting Kingsley counter with a right hand.
Rekis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kingsley swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rekis.
Kingsley bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Decent striking displayed by Kingsley there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rekis is rocked!

Kingsley catches Rekis napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Rekis to the canvas!
Oh Rekis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kingsley arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Rekis's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James Kingsley!
The defeated John Rekis had this to say: 'I'll be back!!!'.
