The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez tries to sprawl but Wheeler drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sanchez tries to kick Wheeler off but Wheeler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Sanchez is trying to control but Wheeler manages to pass to mount!
Sanchez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sanchez is desperately trying to improve his position but Wheeler has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wheeler avoids the attempt from Sanchez to control.

Wheeler pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wheeler looking to control but Sanchez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Wheeler lands a big shot there that rocks Sanchez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Wheeler is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sanchez is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sanchez flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wheeler anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sanchez and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wheeler slips an arm under Sanchez chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wheeler has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wheeler is squeezing on Sanchez like an anaconda would it's prey. Sanchez fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
