With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Savage!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McAdvar misses with the combination.

and Savage moves into the clinch.
McAdvar jumps guard but Savage stands there with McAdvar around his waist. McAdvar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Savage breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McAdvar darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Baines McAdvar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McAdvar swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Savage counters with a three punch combo that has McAdvar backing up. McAdvar nods at Savage to acknowledge the strikes.
McAdvar comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Savage dodges the punch combination from McAdvar.
Savage drops down looking to force a counter takedown but McAdvar defends it well.
Savage bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McAdvar throws a combination that misses

and Savage counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Savage.

Savage breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McAdvar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Savage tries to counter by closing the distance.
Some wild striking there from McAdvar.
Savage avoids a punch combination nicely.
McAdvar misses with an uppercut
and Savage counters with a series of strikes. McAdvar will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Savage counters with a shoot takedown. McAdvar fights it but they end up in guard.
McAdvar is looking to stand back up but Savage counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by McAdvar.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McAdvar tries to improve his position but instead Savage has taken his back!
Savage controlling the position well here. McAdvar rolled but Savage kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

McAdvar has hold of Savage's leg, trying to break free but it's let Savage lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! McAdvar is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Savage throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
