The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies closes the distance but Jacobsen moves to the side
and Jacobsen counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Davies is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Jacobsen scores with the left hand. Davies knows he should have avoided that one.
Davies looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jacobsen is fending him off so far but Davies persists. Nope, Jacobsen circles away and we're back to standing.
Jacobsen swats away the attempt to clinch by Davies.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jacobsen.
Nice straight punches there by Jacobsen. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jacobsen.
Jacobsen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jacobsen wants it to stay on the feet.
Davies takes a kick to the side of the head.
Davies changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jacobsen tries to avoid it but Davies manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jacobsen to the ground. Jacobsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Peter Jacobsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Davies.
Davies throws a series of punches but Jacobsen avoids them all with ease.
Jacobsen quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Davies rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jacobsen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jacobsen was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Davies.

Jacobsen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Davies shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jacobsen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Jacobsen lands a nice leg kick that just misses Davies's sensitive parts.

Jacobsen lands a big head kick that sends Davies tumbling to the mat! Jacobsen takes a step backwards and waves Davies back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Davies is still on wobbly legs! Can Jacobsen finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jacobsen lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
We've been told by Jacobsen's head coaches at Cozad MMA LA Elite that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jacobsen throws a good cross that connects.
Davies has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jacobsen.

Davies misses with a two punch combination.

Jacobsen drops Davies with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Davies looks back up at him and smiles so Jacobsen waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Look low, kick high! Jacobsen uses the oldest trick in the book to send Davies tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Jacobsen is absolutely delighted - when Davies wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
