Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcellus Ypres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ypres's choice of entrance music: PAFF - Kornflakez (JV Remix). Marcellus Ypres will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva has a takedown stuffed.

Ypres rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ypres lands an elbow inside.
Silva keeps control of Ypres as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Ypres wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the cage.
Ypres tries a knee to the head but Silva blocks it.
Ypres using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Silva has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Ypres just misses with a elbow thrown towards Silva's brow.
Silva fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ypres smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Ypres sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nice takedown defense from Ypres. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
Marcellus Ypres is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Jose Silva has been cut.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Ypres which made him look bad.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Ypres throws a series of strikes that have Silva backpedaling.

Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ypres smiles and moves away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Silva crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ypres - the referee stops the clock and Silva gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ypres. Silva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ypres's waist but Ypres gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.

Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ypres can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Silva is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Ypres frees his head nicely. Oh but Silva has switched to an armbar! Ypres is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
