Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Giovanni Chase (ranked 23840 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony King (ranked 5692 p4p, 632 weight class). Giovanni Chase has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Giovanni Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony King!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King moves into the clinch.
Chase tries to score a body lock takedown but King shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

King gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Chase regains guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Chase manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Chase really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
King looking to throw knees to the head but Chase is blocking nicely.

King pulls guard effortlessly.
King bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chase's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
King stays in close to Chase's body and controls the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Chase not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Chase will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as King accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chase scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Chase tries to sprawl but King drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Chase dives in and grabs King's left leg, looking for a takedown. King pushes down on Chase's head and hops out.

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Chase has a closed guard, preventing King from standing up.

Chase has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. King is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Chase.
Chase tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but King wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

King has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chase uses from the top position.

Chase has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Chase looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks King with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Chase is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that King can do to turn this around?
King has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chase is working away from the top position though.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Chase shoots in but King avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Chase drops down looking for an ankle pick but King pulls his leg out and moves away.
King doesn't manage to clinch there - Chase circles away.
Chase is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from King.
The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Chase throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around King's waist but King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chase off to one side.
King feints a counter leg kick.

King manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chase on his heels. He'll look to pass Chase's guard now, I'm sure.
King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

King got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chase has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, King has managed to get both his arms back between Chase's legs - danger averted.
Chase wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and King is now in half guard.
Chase is staying active underneath King, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Chase is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

King misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Chase is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

King looking to control but Chase is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Chase wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by King.
King misses with some ground and pound and Chase recovers position to half guard.
Chase is not content to let King control the position.
Chase moves into full guard.
Chase keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chase lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Chase scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
King is trying to keep Chase in close.
Chase postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Anthony King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think King has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
