The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Charles pinned against the cage. Charles gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Charles pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Charles misses with a looping left.
Patterson misses with a takedown attempt - Charles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Patterson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Patterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Charles is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Patterson is just riding it out for now. Charles eventually gives up the hold.

Patterson is working for a rear naked choke. Charles is not defending it well and Patterson has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Charles refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Charles's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
