The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dominiguez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A slapping body kick lands there for Day.
Day fails to land with a series of punches.
Day on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Day drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Day misses with a double jab.
Day throws a right and a left that both miss.
A head kick by Day misses

and Dominiguez counters with a nice uppercut that drops Day onto his backside! Day bounces straight back to his feet before we have a chance to even start the count. He'll get the standing 8 count anyway before we get back underway.

Day is rocked!
Julian Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Day uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dominiguez.

Dominiguez cracks Day with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Day get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Day looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!

Day throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dominiguez.

and Dominiguez counters with a perfectly timed counter left hook that drops Day to the mat, face first! Dominiguez goes to the neutral corner and waits for the referee to start the count. Day is back to hise feet already though and looking to continue the bout! Exciting stuff!

Dominiguez looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Dominiguez backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Day's temple! It sends Day violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Dominiguez celebrates and the doctors try to help Day!
