The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartagena connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Diaz momentarily.
Cartagena looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cartagena displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Diaz misses with a hook.
Diaz scores with a jab. Cartagena acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Cartagena will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diaz closes the distance looking to clinch
and Cartagena counters with a huge left! Diaz is in big trouble! He's backing up but Cartagena isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Diaz from any more damage. A dominating finish by Cartagena!
