Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xiao tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gibbs seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Xiao closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gibbs's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gibbs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Xiao throws a right hand that Gibbs ducks under and follows up with a left that Gibbs also avoids with ease.

Xiao changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gibbs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gibbs parries the strikes from Xiao easily there. Xiao is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gibbs to escape.
Gibbs manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Gibbs is controlling Xiao's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Gibbs seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Xiao for as long as he can get away with.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Gibbs manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
