The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitehead showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Linhart.
Whitehead with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Linhart to score with a decent uppercut.

Linhart is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Whitehead's half guard.

Whitehead makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Linhart digs a good hook to Whitehead's body.

Linhart closes the distance and clinches.

Linhart lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Whitehead kicks Linhart off and gets back to his feet.
Linhart fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A punch combination from Linhart misses.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Linhart is defended easily by Whitehead.

Linhart clinches up against the cage.
Whitehead is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Linhart to keep the fight standing.
Whitehead really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A left hand lands to the body for Linhart.

Linhart pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Linhart is working an open guard so Whitehead takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Linhart misses with an attempted mid kick.
Linhart scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Whitehead changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Linhart tries to avoid it but Whitehead manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Linhart to the ground. Linhart escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hollis Whitehead. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Linhart shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Whitehead manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Whitehead uses the cage to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Linhart misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Whitehead gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Linhart.

Linhart is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Whitehead is in big trouble! Linhart is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Whitehead. Poor guy.
