Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Butler (ranked 587 p4p, 64 weight class) and Semmy Cobb (ranked 1587 p4p, 177 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Butler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Semmy Cobb!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobb's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cobb duly obliges.


It looks like Jake Butler has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Butler is defended easily by Cobb.
Cobb fails to land with a series of punches.
Butler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cobb rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Butler moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cobb cracks Butler with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Cobb stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Butler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Butler takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Butler walks into a straight right hand from Cobb.
Butler takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cobb misses with a double jab.
Cobb slaps away a takedown attempt from Butler, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Cobb looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Cobb sizes up Butler with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Butler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cobb as he avoids it easily.
Butler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cobb swivels and escapes.
Butler tries to close the distance and clinch but Cobb swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cobb drops Butler with a beautiful combination! Butler stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cobb is looking for the KO!


Butler is rocked!
Butler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Oh Butler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
BOOM! Cobb lands a beautiful left hook that drops Butler. Butler tries to recover but Cobb is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Butler lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Semmy Cobb!
Semmy Cobb decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
