The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Baxter.
Baxter is looking to clinch.
Vega misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Baxter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Baxter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Vega wants to get back to full guard.
Baxter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vega does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Baxter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vega manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Vega shoots in looking for a takedown but Baxter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vega's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Baxter has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Vega is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Vega has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Baxter uses from the top position.
