Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert McKenna (ranked 1758 p4p, 192 weight class) and Slim Sylvia (ranked 1618 p4p, 178 weight class). McKenna comes to the cage accompanied by Freedom. Sylvia is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Some Country Shit. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sylvia cracks McKenna with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Robert McKenna has been cut.
Sylvia takes a swing at McKenna's ribcage but misses.
McKenna fails with a takedown attempt.
It seemed like Sylvia was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Sylvia comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nice jab there from Sylvia.
Sylvia looks to land a right hand but McKenna moved out of range.
Sylvia throws a right and a left that McKenna avoids nicely.
McKenna shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sylvia counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sylvia lands with a kick to the temple. McKenna shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
McKenna ducks under a wild hook from Sylvia.
A big left from Sylvia misses.
We've been hearing reports that McKenna has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Sylvia swings and misses with a hook to the body.

McKenna clinches up against the cage.

McKenna has hold of one of Sylvia's legs. Sylvia is fighting the takedown attempt but McKenna gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McKenna is looking to advance position but Sylvia has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKenna is squirming around, avoiding Sylvia's attempts to control the action.
Sylvia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McKenna can't escape the position.
Sylvia controlling the position easily from mount.
Sylvia's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Sylvia tries to control but McKenna wriggling away.

Sylvia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sylvia controlling from the full mount.
Sylvia is continuing to stall.
Sylvia looking to control but McKenna is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McKenna is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
McKenna regains half guard.
McKenna wants to get back to his feet.
McKenna tries to roll over but Sylvia keeps him under control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sylvia wants to stand up but McKenna is controlling the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sylvia lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McKenna circles away quickly and effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slim Sylvia dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

McKenna takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
McKenna shoots and misses
and Sylvia counters with a nice uppercut.

McKenna clinches up against the cage.
McKenna misses with a hook to the ribs.

Sylvia manages to break the clinch.
Sylvia swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by McKenna.

Robert McKenna's cut is getting worse.
McKenna shoots in but Sylvia avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sylvia darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
McKenna shoots in for a double leg but Sylvia sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
It seemed like Sylvia was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert McKenna. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sylvia lands a big right hand that sends McKenna crashing to the mat! Sylvia stays standing though and waves McKenna back to his feet!
Slim Sylvia seems to be getting the better of the standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Sylvia counters with a nice right hand that sends McKenna toppling to the canvas! McKenna scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Sylvia finish him?!

Robert McKenna's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Sylvia lands a brutal uppercut that launches McKenna off his feet! McKenna tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
