These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Topper Green and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Weber manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Weber looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Murphy moves in looking to clinch but Weber pushes him off.
A little feinted left hand from Weber on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Dillon Weber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Weber avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Murphy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Weber definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Weber using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Murphy has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Weber throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Murphy is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Murphy breaks from the clinch.
Weber keeps the fight on the outside.

Murphy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Weber trying to control the position but instead, Murphy has worked for underhooks and has pushed Weber into the cage.
Murphy putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Weber in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weber prevents a takedown attempt there.
Murphy lands a good knee to the midsection. Weber won't want to take too many of those.
Murphy slows down the pace here.

Murphy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Oh Weber is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Murphy gets a big slam - oh, Weber is out! Weber is out! That's a nasty KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Shane Murphy!
Shane Murphy decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
