PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Morris (ranked 2622 p4p, 300 weight class) and Jackson Villa (ranked 3595 p4p, 399 weight class). Villa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Jimmy Eat World - The Middle kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jackson Villa!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Morris lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
We've been told by Morris's head coaches at Jorzi GYM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Villa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Morris fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Villa has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Morris throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A jab lands there for Morris.
Villa takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Morris throws a front kick that sends Villa stumbling back into the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
That kick from Morris tenderised Villa's leg. Villa is trying to keep his angry face on.
Villa gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Morris.
Nice sprawl there from Morris as Villa shoots in.
It looked like Morris wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Morris throws a nice outside leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Villa fails with a takedown attempt.
Nick Morris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Villa.
Morris tests Villa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Villa has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Morris.
Morris feints and then cracks Villa's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Villa down.
Nice cross by Morris.

Morris sends Villa crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Morris is motioning to the referee to let Villa up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Villa is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Villa gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Morris gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Villa is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Morris!
During a confident post fight interview, Nick Morris thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
The defeated Jackson Villa had this to say: 'My opponent was the better fighter, I have nothing but respect. He showed me I got holes in my game. I'll be back.'.
