Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ground N Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ground N Pound!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bear feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
N Pound is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bear wants to pass the guard but N Pound is keeping the position.
Bear is looking to work some ground and pound but N Pound has wrist control.
Bear wants to stand but N Pound is controlling his posture from full guard.

N Pound had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bear is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. N Pound Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bear's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

N Pound is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
N Pound is looking to control Bear but Bear is wriggling around and keeping busy.

N Pound patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Bear manages to reverse the position and now he's in N Pound's guard. Nice work there by Bear.
Bear throws and elbow that misses. N Pound uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bear's guard. Nice move by N Pound!
Bear is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst N Pound is controlling him.
Bear not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bear tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bear is pulling down on N Pound's head to control his posture.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
N Pound trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bear's guard.
Bear trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Bear on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bear tries to get out of the position.
Bear has N Pound pulled in close to control his posture.
Bear is looking to sweep but instead, N Pound has passed into half guard.
N Pound prevents Bear from improving his position.
Bear moves into full guard.
N Pound trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Bear is trying to keep N Pound in close.
Bear wants to get back to his feet but N Pound is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
N Pound preventing the sweep.
Bear controls N Pound momentarily but N Pound frees himself.
Bear tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
N Pound shoots and misses

and Bear counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bear wants to pass the guard but N Pound is keeping the position.

N Pound is trying to hold Bear in close to prevent damage but Bear has managed to pass into half guard.
N Pound won't allow Bear to pass to mount.
N Pound trying to control but Bear postures up.
Bear throws a strike but N Pound avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Bear dominated that round.
That's time! Bear's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bear takes a swing at N Pound's ribcage but misses.
Bear moves out of range of the body kick.
Bear has his takedown stuffed

and N Pound counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bear's guard now.
N Pound trying to control but Bear is working from the bottom.
Bear wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
N Pound trying to control the position from guard on top but Bear is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
N Pound working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bear's head.
Bear keeping moving, preventing N Pound from controlling successfully.

Bear pushes N Pound off and gets back to his feet.

N Pound misses with a series of wild punches.
Bear throws a nice looking combination but N Pound bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bear closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
N Pound is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Bear wants to lay and pray for a moment but N Pound keeps working.
Bear scoring with punches and elbows.

You can see the frustration on N Pound's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bear stands up and we're back to a striking position.
N Pound misses with a takedown

and Bear counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bear.
N Pound is breathing heavily.

Bear gets to his feet - N Pound follows without any prompting.

and N Pound counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bear is trying to control the position from the bottom.
N Pound looking to pass the guard.

N Pound stopping the sweep attempt from Bear.
N Pound missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
N Pound trying to control but Bear is working from the bottom.
Bear looking for a sweep. Not yet Bear, not yet.
Bear bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in N Pound's guard.
N Pound is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Bear stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. N Pound swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
N Pound keeping moving, preventing Bear from controlling successfully.
Bear is looking to work some ground and pound but N Pound has wrist control.
N Pound can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bear controls the pace.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bear won't allow N Pound to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Max Bear will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Bear closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bear lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear N Pound down.
Bear tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
N Pound trying to remain calm as Bear controls from the top position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Max Bear just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
A slow jab from N Pound misses its intended target.
Bear showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from N Pound.
Bear throws a right hand that N Pound ducks under and follows up with a left that N Pound also avoids with ease.

Bear gets the takedown into side control.
N Pound tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bear wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bear landing strikes.
N Pound is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bear connects with a decent elbow.
N Pound is trying to improve his position.
Bear working the ground and pound.
Bear wants to lay and pray for a moment but N Pound keeps working.
N Pound is looking to regain half guard here but Bear keeps moving and retains side control.
N Pound takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bear lands a nice forearm strike.
Bear controlling the position.
Bear works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
N Pound struggling a bit here.

Bear tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bear has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
N Pound taking punishment in the form of punches.

Bear decides to stand back up.
Bear tries to close the distance and clinch but N Pound swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bear clinches up with N Pound and pushes him back against the cage.
N Pound is trying to break the clinch but Bear has him pressed against the cage.

N Pound breaks the clinch.

Bear bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bear postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Bear working the ground and pound.
Ground N Pound has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
N Pound misses with a strike from the bottom.
Bear wants to control but N Pound is keeping him busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Max Bear showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bear, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
