The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Thomas .
A nice leg kick lands there from Thomas .
Franklin throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Franklin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Franklin.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Franklin has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Thomas . Oh but Franklin has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Thomas goes limp - he's gone! Franklin jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

After the fight, Wayne Franklin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
