Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Randall Lawson !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alex Sunchez!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Lawson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And Sunchez tries to counter it with a takedown but Lawson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Sunchez swats away the attempt to clinch by Lawson .

Lawson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Lawson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sunchez on the ground.
Sunchez is staying active underneath Lawson , who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sunchez manages to get to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Lawson looks to land a combination but Sunchez avoids it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sunchez on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Sunchez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lawson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sunchez tries to avoid it but Lawson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sunchez to the ground. Sunchez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sunchez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lawson on his heels. He'll look to pass Lawson 's guard now, I'm sure.

Lawson can't keep his opponent in guard - Sunchez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Sunchez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sunchez is keen to just control but Lawson is a slippery customer.
Sunchez slips a nice elbow through Lawson 's hands, connecting with Lawson 's forehead.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sunchez connects with a nice short shot to Lawson 's temple.
Sunchez is keen to just control but Lawson is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lawson is trying to maintain the position but Sunchez is very close to passing his half guard.
Sunchez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Sunchez looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Lawson is trying to control but can't.
Sunchez landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Lawson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sunchez scores with a couple of nice shots.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lawson tries to pull guard but Sunchez won't allow it.
Lawson is looking to take this one to the mat.

Lawson wants to clinch up but Sunchez keeps it at a distance.
Sunchez changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lawson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sunchez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lawson somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randall Lawson . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lawson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sunchez as he jumps to the side.

Sunchez drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lawson defends it well.

Sunchez feints and as Lawson raises his hands in defense, Sunchez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sunchez works over Lawson with some ground and pound from guard.

Sunchez is looking to stand up but Lawson won't let him.

Oh Lawson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lawson wants to control but Sunchez is keeping busy.
Sunchez not doing much here.
Sunchez is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Lawson is hurt! He's hurt bad - Sunchez fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Lawson from any more punishment! Congratulations to Sunchez! Great finish!
