Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Dibiase (ranked 3228 p4p, 127 weight class) and Jason Imbert (ranked 3853 p4p, 146 weight class). Dibiase comes to the cage accompanied by MONEY MONEY MONEY -by Eddie Money. Jason Imbert acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ted Dibiase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Imbert!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Chris Dean and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dibiase throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Imbert counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Ted Dibiase has been cut.
Imbert ducks under a wild hook from Dibiase.
A swing and a miss from Dibiase.
Imbert avoids the body shot from Dibiase.
Imbert swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Imbert throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dibiase.
Imbert scores with a punch to the head.
Imbert misses with a wild combination.
Dibiase swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Dibiase slips under a jab.
Dibiase has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Makoa - Hilo Cheapest Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Imbert connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dibiase's hands.
Imbert looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Imbert fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dibiase manages to avoid it.

Dibiase fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Imbert sprawls well initially but Dibiase persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Imbert wants to control but Dibiase is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Dibiase has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Imbert is trying to maintain the position but Dibiase is very close to passing his half guard.
Dibiase sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Imbert defending well though.
Dibiase is just content to waste time from the top position. Imbert takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dibiase shoots in for a double leg but Imbert sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dibiase is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Imbert.

Dibiase tries to keep at a distance but Imbert has taken the fight into the clinch.
Imbert lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Imbert manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Imbert tries to work over Dibiase's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Dibiase tries to pull guard but Imbert won't allow it.

Dibiase's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Imbert moves out of range as Dibiase strikes.
Imbert avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Imbert throws a shot from downtown. Dibiase moves away and avoids it.
Imbert tries to clinch up but Dibiase circles away and keeps his distance.

Dibiase walks into a stiff left hand from Imbert.
Dibiase throws out a loose jab but Imbert uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dibiase misses the jab.
Imbert throws out a counter right but Dibiase avoids it with no problem.
A big left from Imbert misses.
Imbert swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Imbert takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dibiase loads up on a big right hand but Imbert slips the punch.
Dibiase uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Imbert.
Dibiase drops down looking for a counter takedown but Imbert sprawls and moves away.
Imbert throws a lazy right hand but Dibiase sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dibiase throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Imbert's waist but Imbert gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dibiase off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Dibiase. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Imbert works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Dibiase misses with a looping left.
Imbert swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Dibiase thows a left - swing and a miss!
Imbert lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dibiase at a distance.
Imbert rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dibiase counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dibiase is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Imbert throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dibiase sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dibiase rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Imbert moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Dibiase connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Imbert swings widly with a right hand
and Dibiase cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Imbert misses with a hook. Dibiase ducked under it nicely.

Dibiase fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Imbert scores with a punch to the head.

Dibiase is trying to push Imbert away but Imbert has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Imbert blocks an elbow strike.
Dibiase stalling in the clinch but Imbert improves position.

Dibiase tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Imbert is pushing Dibiase up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Imbert lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dibiase backwards.


Dibiase is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Imbert lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Oh Dibiase is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Imbert pushes Dibiase against the cage. Imbert is working some dirty boxing. Imbert pushes off with a quick right hook! Dibiase goes down! Dibiase tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Imbert moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Imbert!
