Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Redman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox comes to the ring accompanied by Hardrock Hallelujah {Lordi}. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Desmond Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mason Redman!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redman clinches with his opponent.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Fox.
Fox gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Desmond Fox.

Fox has Redman up against the ropes in a clinch.
Redman misses with a punch to the body.
Redman letting Fox take a breather here.

Redman jumps guard and drags Fox to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Redman wants to improve his position but instead Fox has moved into half guard.
Redman misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Fox seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Fox blocks the strikes from Redman.
Redman is looking to improve his position.
Redman gets back to full guard.

Redman looking for a guillotine here but Fox defends easily.
Fox stopping the sweep attempt from Redman.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Redman looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Fox passes into half guard.

Fox postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Redman to stand up.
Redman lands a jab to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Redman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Redman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fox keeps working.
Fox is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Redman is looking to take a break and control but Fox is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Redman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fox is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Redman looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Redman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Redman prevents Fox from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mason Redman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Fox fails with an attempt to clinch.
Redman fails with the takedown.
Redman tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Fox is able to avoid easily.
Redman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Fox closes the distance and pushes Redman back into the ropes.
Redman being controlled against the ropes.
Fox blocking some punches.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Fox gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Redman.
Desmond Fox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mason Redman.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Redman wants a takedown.
Redman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Fox rushes Redman and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Fox will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Redman up against the ropes.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Redman as Fox tries to tie him up.
Fox content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Fox for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Redman is trying to break the clinch but Fox has him pressed against the ropes.
Fox is stalling here.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Desmond Fox.
Redman misses with a low kick as Fox jumps back.
Redman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fox pinned against the cage. Fox gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fox tries to clinch

and Redman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Redman.
Fox will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Redman throws and elbow that misses. Fox uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Redman's guard. Nice move by Fox!

Redman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fox gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Redman throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Redman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fox doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fox manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fox has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Fox would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Redman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Redman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fox gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Mason Redman will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Redman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fox gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Redman is working for takedown but Fox is calmly controlling the position for now.
Fox has Redman pressed against the ropes.
Fox tries to stall but Redman uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Redman is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Desmond Fox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mason Redman.

Redman is trying to break free.

The is referee keeping an eye on Fox - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.
Fox stops a takedown attempt from Redman.
Fox just leaning against Redman, taking a breather.
Fox trying to stall but Redman improves his position.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Desmond Fox.

Fox tries to clinch but Redman moves out of range.
Desmond Fox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Redman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Fox moves into the clinch.
Redman changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Fox fights it off and pushes away nicely.

so Redman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Redman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Fox is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Fox has escaped and now he's on top!

Fox avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fox won't allow Redman to sweep him here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Desmond Fox showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Redman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
