Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marco Inferi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Marco Inferi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rickson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie lands with a shot to the body.
Inferi misses the jab.
Gracie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Inferi finds it's way round the side to connect with Gracie's head.


It looks like Rickson Gracie has been cut.
Marco Inferi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Inferi.
Gracie walks into a left hand.
Gracie with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Inferi misses with a two punch combination.
A left lands for Gracie.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie throws the left hand but Inferi avoids the punch easily.
Inferi throws a big shot that misses.
Gracie showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Inferi.
Inferi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Inferi throws a sloppy body shot
and Gracie counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Inferi is breathing heavily.
Gracie blocks a jab.
Inferi avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Inferi misses with a shot to the body

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
Gracie looking to pass the guard.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Inferi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie slips nicely into half guard.
Gracie trying to control the action but Inferi is working from the bottom.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Inferi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gracie wants to control but Inferi is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Inferi!
Gracie throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Inferi because Gracie loaded up on that one.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gracie punching from mount but Inferi doing a good job of avoiding damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Inferi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Inferi and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Inferi is pushing Gracie's head away, looking to escape. Gracie manages to hold on to the position though.
Inferi manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Gracie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Inferi pulls his head out easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Inferi seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rickson Gracie dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rickson Gracie's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Gracie!
Inferi lands with a cross.
Gracie blocks a jab.
Inferi looks to land a left hand but Gracie moved out of range nicely.
Gracie staying out of range there.
Marco Inferi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Inferi misses with a double jab

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Inferi won't be happy with that.

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Gracie wants to control but Inferi is keeping him busy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Inferi is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Inferi is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gracie is controlling him well.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Inferi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Inferi prevents Gracie from improving position.
Inferi is trying to buck Gracie off.

Inferi explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Inferi closes the distance looking to clinch
enabling Gracie to counter with a crisp jab.
Inferi throws a leg kick that is checked

and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Inferi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Inferi has escaped and now he's on top!
Inferi wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position.
Gracie is trying to keep Inferi in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a triangle. Inferi throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gracie's body to avoid the submission. Gracie has instead reached around Inferi's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gracie arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Rickson Gracie!
