Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cheesy Sludge (ranked 3936 p4p, 316 weight class) and Senon Chavez (ranked 25337 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Senon Chavez!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A quick step to the side and Sludge tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sludge throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Chavez.
Sludge lands with a straight right. Chavez didn't see that one coming.
Sludge plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Chavez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Sludge pushes Chavez off looking to stand but Chavez dives back in and keeps control.

Chavez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sludge doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chavez.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Cheesy Sludge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Senon Chavez.
Chavez takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Sludge tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chavez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Chavez replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Sludge blocks it well.

Chavez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sludge finds it's way round the side to connect with Chavez's head.

Chavez shoots in and drives through. Sludge sprawls well.

Sludge uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

and Sludge counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Sludge scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Sludge drives through and clinches with Chavez against the cage.

Chavez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sludge uses from the top position.
