The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Avinu has Nelson up against the cage in a clinch.
Avinu is pressed up against the cage. Nelson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Avinu down to the mat. Avinu avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Nelson gets caught flat footed, as Avinu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Nelson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Avinu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Avinu working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Avinu stopping the sweep attempt from Nelson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nelson looking for a guillotine here but Avinu defends easily.

Nelson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Avinu is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Avinu controls the pace.
Avinu is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Nelson is adopting a defensive guard.

Avinu controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nelson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Avinu is controlling him.

Avinu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nelson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Avinu has managed to get both his arms back between Nelson's legs - danger averted.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Avinu's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Avinu not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Nelson wants to stand up but Avinu is controlling him.
Avinu landing some decent shots from guard.
Nelson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Nelson is working hard here to advance position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Avinu controls from within his opponent's guard.
Nelson wants to sweep here but Avinu controlling him for the moment.
Avinu content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Avinu keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nelson's head.
Avinu is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Avinu postures up and lands a big shot to Nelson's brow.

Nelson is rocked!
Avinu postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Nelson covers up, he's hurt! Avinu keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Avinu and the ref steps in to end the fight! Avinu can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

A relieved looking Avraham Avinu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
