Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nathanial Henry (ranked 7554 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tywan Woods (ranked 5183 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathanial Henry has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nathanial Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tywan Woods!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henry throws a leg kick

and Woods counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Woods lands a nice short elbow.
Woods prevents Henry from improving his position.
Woods throwing shots but Henry is blocking nicely.
Henry regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Woods.
Henry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Woods seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Henry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Woods drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Henry manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Woods has Henry in his guard.

Woods wants to sweep but no luck.
Henry postures up.
Henry throws a big elbow that misses.
Henry wants to control from the top but Woods keeps moving.
Henry won't allow Woods to sweep him here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Woods tries for a takedown but Henry sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Henry counters with a left and a right that stings Woods.
Henry tries to clinch up but Woods circles away and keeps his distance.
Despite the aggression on Woods's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Henry rushes Woods and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Woods is trying to trip Henry. He has hold of a leg but Henry is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Woods persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Nathanial Henry will probably get the nod.

Woods tries to pull guard but Henry holds him up against the cage and eventually Woods drops back down to his feet.

Woods jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Henry walks away with a smile on his face. Woods gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Woods is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Henry manages to get to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Woods accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Henry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Woods pushes Henry off looking to stand but Henry dives back in and keeps control.

Henry lands with a punch from half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Woods can do anything to dispel that myth.
Henry is trying to control the action in half guard but Woods is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Woods is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Henry here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Henry looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Woods with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Henry creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Henry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tywan Woods has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nathanial Henry is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Woods rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Henry moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Henry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
