With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sol Kwon!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Date tries to close the distance and clinch but Kwon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Date slips a straight right by Kwon.
Date walks into a jab.
Date throws a lazy uppercut
and Kwon counters with a stiff right hand.
Date lands with an overhand left.
Date misses with a straight right.
Kwon unleashes a big counter combination but Date bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Kwon lands with a nice body punch.
Kwon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Sol Kwon has been cut.
Date looks to land a left hand but Kwon moved out of range nicely.
Date throws a poor cross that misses
letting Kwon counter with a right hand.

It looks like Lee Date has been cut.
Lee Date seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Date misses with a hook.
Kwon throws a shot from downtown. Date moves away and avoids it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Kwon counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Date tries to clinch but Kwon moves out of range.
Kwon is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Date with a body shot.

The fighters circling - Date throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kwon lands a nice hook to Date's body. Date takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kwon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Date moves away.

Kwon takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Date fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kwon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A nice side step and Kwon releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Kwon scores with a counter punch that sends Date to the canvas! Kwon smells blood - he's punishing Date with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Date has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Sol Kwon was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
