The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Rush. No joy for Lee on that attempt.
Rush tries to counter with a takedown but Lee is quick to defend against it.

Lee shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rush won't allow Lee to pass to mount.
Lee is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rush could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lee looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rush with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lee looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rush is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Let's hope that Lee has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lee scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Rush wants to control but Lee is keeping busy.
Lee takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Lee has taken the fight to the clinch.

Lee keeps control of Rush as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rush. That's going to slow Lee down.

Lee shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rush manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rush is looking for a triangle here but Lee uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Rush tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee wants to stand but Rush has his arm trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lee has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rush is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Lee yanks on the arm and Rush is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Lee.
