Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Khalamedov Nurmagabeeb (ranked 4417 p4p, 422 weight class) and Roy Jones Gracie (ranked 4878 p4p, 461 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nurmagabeeb might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sabine Kors feat. Timaro - Dagestan (Remix). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Gracie. Those never looked like landing.
Gracie throws out a loose jab but Nurmagabeeb uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gracie tries to bum rush Nurmagabeeb with a series of wild strikes but Nurmagabeeb uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nurmagabeeb half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Nurmagabeeb rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nurmagabeeb blocks a jab.
A big right from Nurmagabeeb misses.
Nurmagabeeb tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Nurmagabeeb.

and Nurmagabeeb counters with a shoot takedown. Gracie fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nurmagabeeb got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nurmagabeeb has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nurmagabeeb accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gracie controls Nurmagabeeb momentarily but Nurmagabeeb frees himself.

Nurmagabeeb drops back looking for a leg! Gracie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gracie manages to kick Nurmagabeeb off! Nurmagabeeb jumps back into Gracie's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nurmagabeeb is working away from the top position though.

Gracie felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
