Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takayuki Hamada (ranked 3436 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walid Seghir (ranked 4100 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Takayuki Hamada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Walid Seghir!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamada tries to clinch up but Seghir circles away and keeps his distance.
Hamada dives in for a single leg takedown but Seghir sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hamada swinging wildly here.
Seghir throws a body shot but no joy.

Seghir drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hamada managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Seghir.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Seghir has control of an arm but Hamada manages to advance to Seghir's back!
Seghir looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Seghir trying to control the hands but Hamada breaks the grip.
Seghir is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Seghir manages to reverse the position and now he's in Hamada's guard. Nice work there by Seghir.

Hamada is trying to control the position but Seghir postures up.

Seghir pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hamada is keeping the position for now.

Hamada has his foot on Seghir's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Seghir works his way back into a safe position though.
Hamada is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Seghir dives into side control.
Seghir tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Seghir prevents Hamada from escaping the position.
Hamada is trying to escape the position but Seghir is controlling the position.
Seghir landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Seghir has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hamada!
Hamada trying desperately to get to his feet.
Hamada tries to hold on but Seghir postures up.
Seghir lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Seghir avoids the attempt from Hamada to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Seghir gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Hamada regains guard.
Hamada wants to get back to his feet but Seghir passes into half guard.

Hamada is working to avoid the ground and pound but Seghir connects with a decent elbow.

Seghir is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hamada knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
A lull in the action here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hamada is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hamada tries to kick Seghir off but Seghir keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Well, if Seghir is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hamada is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Seghir wants to free his trapped foot but Hamada is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Seghir content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hamada tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Seghir is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Seghir keeps the fight on the outside.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hamada misses with a wild combination.
Seghir has his takedown stuffed
and Hamada counters with a one-two to the body.
Hamada shoots in but Seghir avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hamada is trying hard to land a takedown here. Seghir sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Seghir is looking for the big counter here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takayuki Hamada. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Seghir takes the fight into the clinch.
Seghir is pressed up against the cage. Hamada has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Seghir down to the mat. Seghir avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Seghir closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hamada quickly recovers to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walid Seghir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Seghir must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Seghir counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Seghir tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hamada avoids it.
Seghir has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Seghir has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hamada regains guard immediately.
Seghir is in close to Hamada's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Seghir controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hamada is wriggling around but Seghir manages to pass to half guard.
Seghir is controlling the pace.

Seghir is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hamada has managed to free his arm - good work.

Seghir with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Seghir is trying to work for a kimura but Hamada is defending well.
Seghir blocks the strikes from Hamada.
Hamada avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Seghir.

Hamada actively working from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Seghir trying to mount his opponent but Hamada defends it.

Hamada looking for submissions off his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Seghir stalling.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Seghir is continuing to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Walid Seghir comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Seghir winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
