Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between SD Blayze (ranked 24119 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mister Mxyzptlk (ranked 5978 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mxyzptlk is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Blayze.
Blayze tries to clinch up

Blayze doesn't manage to clinch there - Mxyzptlk circles away.
Blayze dives in and grabs Mxyzptlk's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mxyzptlk pushes down on Blayze's head and hops out.
Blayze shoots for a takedown but Mxyzptlk saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blayze tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mxyzptlk sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blayze somewhat.
Mxyzptlk tries a quick counter leg kick but Blayze is wise to it.

Blayze closes the distance and clinches up with Mxyzptlk, looking for a takedown. Blayze pushes Mxyzptlk against the cage but Mxyzptlk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mxyzptlk's coach down at The 'dam Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mxyzptlk's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Blayze fails to land the takedown.
And Mxyzptlk tries to counter it with a takedown but Blayze pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Blayze fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mxyzptlk has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Blayze tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mxyzptlk swivels and escapes.
A countering left hand to the body from Mxyzptlk misses.

Mxyzptlk throws a series of punches but Blayze avoids them all with ease.
Blayze drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mxyzptlk sprawls and moves away.
Mxyzptlk throws a good cross that connects.
Blayze tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mxyzptlk manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mxyzptlk displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Blayze.

Blayze shoots in but Mxyzptlk avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Blayze shoots in looking for a takedown. Mxyzptlk tries to sprawl out of it but Blayze keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mxyzptlk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
As Blayze backs off Mxyzptlk throws a huge counter combo but Blayze manages to avoid it all.

Blayze shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mxyzptlk but Mxyzptlk pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mxyzptlk closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mxyzptlk lands in his opponent's guard.

Mxyzptlk tries to free his leg and advance position but Blayze is retaining full guard.

Mxyzptlk stands up over Blayze, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mxyzptlk's corner is telling him to maintain position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mister Mxyzptlk dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mxyzptlk wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

SD Blayze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mxyzptlk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Blayze tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
