Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam McManus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Tacos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tacos has chosen Battery as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam McManus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Tacos!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McManus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tacos keeps the fight on the outside.
Tacos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tacos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McManus but McManus pushes him off and we're back to square one.

McManus clinches up with Tacos and pushes him back against the cage.

McManus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McManus doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Tacos to counter with a crisp jab.
McManus closes the distance but Tacos moves to the side

so Tacos counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tacos trying to control the position from guard on top but McManus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McManus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tacos controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tacos won't allow McManus to sweep him here.
McManus not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tacos trying to control the position from guard on top but McManus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McManus will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McManus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tacos paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tacos keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
A combination from Tacos does no damage.
McManus lands a head shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McManus misses with a head kick.
Sam McManus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McManus is breathing heavily.
McManus misses with a kick to the body.
McManus throws a combination that misses
and Tacos counters with a one-two to the body.
McManus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tacos swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tacos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McManus but McManus pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Tacos counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Tacos is looking to stand up but McManus won't let him.

McManus manages to escape and get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tacos tries to clinch but McManus moves out of range.
McManus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tacos circles away quickly and effectively.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tacos shoots in and bounces McManus off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
McManus looking for a sweep. Not yet McManus, not yet.
McManus working a defensive guard here.
McManus keeping moving, preventing Tacos from controlling successfully.
Tacos passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tacos moves into full mount! McManus won't be happy about that!
Tacos takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
McManus trying to control the position but Tacos manages to sink in the hooks.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Tacos's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Tacos sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! McManus taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jim Tacos!
