PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Nevada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Almeida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nevada comes to the cage accompanied by In The End by Linkin Park. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nevada tries to clinch up but Almeida circles away and keeps his distance.
Almeida closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nevada circles away.
Almeida shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nevada as he avoids it easily.

Nevada shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Almeida's guard.
Nevada is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Almeida counters with a low kick, right behind Nevada 's knee.

Steve Almeida dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nevada bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Nevada lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Almeida is trying to control Nevada's posture but Nevada avoids it.
Nevada misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
A lull in the action here.

Almeida throws Nevada to one side and escapes!
Nevada fails with the takedown.

Almeida clinches up with Nevada and pushes him back against the cage.
Almeida is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Nevada pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Almeida manages to break the clinch.
Almeida shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nevada as he jumps to the side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nevada ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Almeida moves away.
A slapping body kick lands there for Almeida.

and Nevada counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Almeida has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Nevada should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Almeida has tightened it up now! Nevada should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
