Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jet Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Reyes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jet Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Reyes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Reyes moves into the clinch successfully.

Jones gets control of Reyes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jones will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Jones throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.
Jones wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Reyes's guard.
Jones scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jones throwing strikes but missing.

Jones gets to his feet - Reyes follows without any prompting.
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reyes tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reyes to the ground. Reyes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reyes as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jet Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reyes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jones thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Reyes landing with the ground and pound.
Reyes looking to pass the guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jones shoots in and bounces Reyes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reyes wants to sweep but no luck.
Jones stands up over Reyes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jones lands a couple of digs.
Jones is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Jones postures up in Reyes's guard and throws a big left but Reyes blocks it.
Reyes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jones is looking to escape.
Reyes scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Reyes prevents Jones from standing back up.
Reyes prevents Jones from improving his position.
Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Reyes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Reyes's back!
Reyes is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Reyes hold on?!
Jones throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Reyes avoids the strikes from Jones.
Jones lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Even with his hooks in, Jones manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Jones lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Jones gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Jones connects with a big shot to the side of Reyes's head.
Jones is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Reyes. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jones has his takedown stuffed

and Reyes counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that.
Jones is trying to get back to his feet.

Reyes working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Jones throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

Reyes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jones to his feet.
Jones closes the distance but Reyes moves to the side

and Reyes counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Reyes decides to stand back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones tries to clinch but Reyes moves away

and Reyes counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.
Reyes passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Reyes is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Reyes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reyes.
Jones gets full guard.

Reyes drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Reyes off! Reyes jumps back into Jones's guard.
Jones throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Reyes wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position.
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Reyes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Reyes tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Jones working over Reyes with some ground and pound. Reyes looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Jones throwing shots but Reyes is blocking nicely.
Jones is pressing down on Reyes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Reyes is holding on for now.
Jones not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Reyes moves into full guard.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Reyes looking for a sweep. Not yet Reyes, not yet.
Jones scoring with punches to the head and body.
Jones pushing down on Reyes's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Jones thows a huge punch but Reyes dodges it nicely.
Reyes tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
Jones looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Jones tries to stand and escape but Reyes is controlling the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nick Reyes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Jones with a poor takedown

Jet Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Reyes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard.
Reyes works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones gets back to full guard.
Jones wants to sweep but no luck.
Reyes stops Jones from standing up.
Reyes wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Reyes manages to pass to side control.
Jones flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Reyes stands up and beckons Jones to join him on the feet.
Reyes avoids a punch combination nicely.

Jones is striking but Reyes is not phased and passes to half guard.

Reyes won't allow Jones to get back to his feet.

Reyes stands up out of Jones's guard for a moment - Jones manages to land a nice upkick.
Jones throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Jones trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Jones striking off his back but it's not causing Reyes any problems.
Reyes would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jones misses with a double jab
and Reyes counters with a head kick. That will keep Jones thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Reyes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Reyes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Reyes decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Reyes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jones punching from the bottom.
Reyes scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reyes blocks the strikes from Jones.
Jones is trying to stand back up but Reyes is controlling him

Nick Reyes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Reyes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
