Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arliss Jager (ranked 6066 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Rowler (ranked 25466 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Rowler is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arliss Jager!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Rowler!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jager stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jager wants it to stay on the feet.
Rowler tries to clinch but Jager moves out of range.
Rowler dives in and grabs Jager's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jager pushes down on Rowler's head and hops out.
Rowler misses with a takedown attempt - Jager sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Arliss Jager has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Rowler.
Rowler on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Jager shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rowler is trying to defend but Jager finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Rowler tries to roll over but Jager keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rowler is trying to control but can't.
Jager tries to pass to full mount but Rowler defends it.

Jager perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Jager is thwarting Rowler's attempts to control the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jager is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rowler wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jager passes to side control.
Rowler is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Jager is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Rowler is in all sorts of trouble here.

Jager jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rowler manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Jager is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Jager advances nicely into full mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jager is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Jager slaps away a takedown attempt from Rowler, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rowler stalks Jager and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jager's face. Jager staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Arliss Jager has been cut.
Rowler tries to clinch but Jager is having none of it.
Jager is looking to land body kicks.
Rowler goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rowler tries to clinch but Jager moves out of range.

Jager shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rowler napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jager wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rowler keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rowler wants to control but Jager postures up.
Rowler being controlled for a moment.

Jager has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jager closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rowler to the mat! Rowler manages to get full guard.
Rowler wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Rowler fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jager is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rowler can do to turn this around?
Jager will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jager fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rowler sprawls well initially but Jager persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jager is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rowler doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jager.
Rowler is looking for a sweep. Jager is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rowler wants to control but Jager is keeping busy and won't allow it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jager slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Jager scores with a three punch combo!

Jager moves into the clinch.
Jager is looking to take this one to the mat.
Rowler lands a nice knee to the body.
Jager stalling.

Jager manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Jager has a closed guard, preventing Rowler from standing up.
Rowler throwing strikes but missing.

Jager keeping moving, preventing Rowler from controlling successfully.
Jager is pulling down on Rowler's head. It's preventing any offense from Rowler, at least for the moment.
Jager looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rowler wants to control from the top but Jager keeps moving.
Rowler won't allow Jager to sweep him here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jager is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rowler is aware though and is defending well.
Rowler wants to control from the top but Jager keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arliss Jager. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rowler throws a right hand that Jager ducks under and follows up with a left that Jager also avoids with ease.
Nick Rowler seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jager shoots in but no luck this time.
And Rowler tries to counter it with a takedown but Jager pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jager appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Jager throws a nice looking combination but Rowler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Jager closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rowler quickly recovers to half guard.
Rowler flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jager seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Rowler is looking to control Jager's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rowler avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Rowler darts in looking for a takedown but Jager gets double underhooks and turns Rowler into the cage.
Jager throws a quick counter head kick but Rowler was just out of range.
Jager throws a body shot but no joy.

Jager feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rowler is working an open guard so Jager takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jager drives through and clinches with Rowler against the cage.
Jager is working Rowler over against the cage.
Rowler wants to break the clinch but can't.

Jager escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rowler shoots for a double leg takedown but Jager sprawls well. He's pushed Rowler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rowler closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jager circles away.
Arliss Jager has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Rowler.
Jager shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Jager has taken the fight to the clinch.

Jager pulls guard successfully.
Jager seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Rowler trying to control the position from guard on top but Jager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rowler is looking to pass into half guard but Jager pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jager is in guard.

Jager postures up in Rowler's guard and throws a big left but Rowler blocks it.
Jager is in close to Rowler's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Jager wants to control from the top but Rowler keeps moving.
Rowler wants to sweep but no luck.
Rowler keeping moving, preventing Jager from controlling successfully.
Jager postures up and lands a big shot to Rowler's brow.
Rowler is trying to control the position but Jager postures up.

Jager passes into half guard.

Jager is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jager is trying to control the action in half guard but Rowler is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jager is controlling the pace.
Rowler is trying to escape back to his feet but Jager uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rowler sneaks back into half guard.
Jager throwing shots but Rowler is blocking nicely.
Jager stalling.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rowler tries to clinch but Jager is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jager shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rowler is not content to let Jager control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Arliss Jager showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jager has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
