The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meneghetti shoots in but Al Khuzeem avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Al Khuzeem with the counter takedown but Meneghetti avoids it easily.
Al Khuzeem shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Meneghetti eats them both and turns towards Al Khuzeem to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Adrian Meneghetti has been cut.
Meneghetti closes the distance and clinches up with Al Khuzeem, looking for a takedown. Meneghetti pushes Al Khuzeem against the cage but Al Khuzeem circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Al Khuzeem misses with a head kick.
Al Khuzeem has a takedown stuffed.
Meneghetti shoots for a takedown but Al Khuzeem saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Al Khuzeem seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Al Khuzeem is working Meneghetti over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meneghetti looking to hit a scissor sweep but Al Khuzeem is one step ahead there.

Meneghetti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Meneghetti wants to get back to his feet but Al Khuzeem is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

and Al Khuzeem counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Al Khuzeem has Meneghetti pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Al Khuzeem pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Meneghetti tumbling to the mat - Al Khuzeem dives into Meneghetti's guard.

Al Khuzeem pivots, looking for a leg kick but Meneghetti is out of range and Al Khuzeem settles back down.
Meneghetti closes this distance looking for a takedown but Al Khuzeem circles away.
Meneghetti shoots in but no luck this time.

Al Khuzeem moves into the clinch successfully.

Al Khuzeem turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Al Khuzeem manages to end up in side control.

Al Khuzeem is trying to get an arm triangle but Meneghetti is defending well.

Al Khuzeem is covering up but some of the strikes from Meneghetti are getting through and doing damage.

I really don't envy Al Khuzeem right now.
Al Khuzeem is still trying to improve position.

Meneghetti is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Al Khuzeem with him. Al Khuzeem is trying to defend but Meneghetti has an arm under the chin now! Al Khuzeem grimaces and is forced to tap out!
