Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Houston Russell (ranked 7606 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michal Marynczak (ranked 24823 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Marynczak's choice of entrance music: Whitesnake - Here I Go Again. Houston Russell has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michal Marynczak!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Russell scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Marynczak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

You get the feeling that Marynczak really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Russell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Russell jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Marynczak is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Marynczak and Russell has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Marynczak looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Russell is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marynczak defends it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Russell has gone for a leg lock! Marynczak slips out almost immediately though and dives into Russell's guard.

Russell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Russell has his foot on Marynczak's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Marynczak works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Russell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marynczak's waist but Marynczak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Russell off to one side.
Marynczak tries to bum rush Russell with a series of wild strikes but Russell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Marynczak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Russell sprawls well. Russell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marynczak gets slowly back to his feet.

Marynczak ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Marynczak no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Russell's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Michal Marynczak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Marynczak fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Russell avoids it really well and circles away.

Marynczak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Russell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marynczak is just riding it out for now. Russell eventually gives up the hold.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Houston Russell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Russell cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Russell postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Marynczak looks a forlorn figure.
Marynczak is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Russell is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Marynczak can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Russell has control of Marynczak's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Marynczak regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Marynczak tries to hold on but Russell postures up.
Marynczak is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Marynczak in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Russell fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Marynczak is desperately trying to improve his position but Russell has a good base and remains in mount.
Russell is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Marynczak tries to lock up and control but Russell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Russell throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Marynczak has his hands clasped together but Russell breaks the hold and Marynczak is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Russell!
