Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Van Der Hoorn (ranked 7522 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Jonhson (ranked 4994 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Der Hoorn has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jonhson is defended easily by Van Der Hoorn.

Jonhson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jonhson is taking a breather. Van Der Hoorn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jonhson wants to stand up but Van Der Hoorn is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jonhson seems to be working for a kimura but Van Der Hoorn defends the submission attempt.

Jonhson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Van Der Hoorn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Well, if Jonhson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jonhson is looking to take a break and control but Van Der Hoorn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jonhson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Jonhson wants to stand but Van Der Hoorn is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Jonhson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jonhson throws some wild stikes that Van Der Hoorn manages to avoid easily.

Van Der Hoorn is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Jonhson locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Van Der Hoorn is forced to tap!
