The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guzman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Guzman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Tanaka throws Guzman to one side and escapes!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tanaka is holding Guzman down, trying to stall.

Guzman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Tanaka tries to land a leg kick but Guzman saw it coming and moves away.

Tanaka clinches up with Guzman and pushes him back against the cage.
Guzman fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Guzman prevents Tanaka from breaking the clinch.
Tanaka blocks a body shot from Guzman.
Tanaka prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benny Guzman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guzman struggles to land a body shot inside as Tanaka controls his hands.
Tanaka looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Tanaka tries to land knees in the clinch but Guzman avoids the damage to the body.
