The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diabate throws a sloppy head kick and Jonhson moves out of range easily.
Jonhson gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Diabate counters with an inside leg kick.
Jonhson looks to land a body kick but Diabate moved away.
Jonhson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Diabate wants to control but Jonhson postures up.
Jonhson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Jonhson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Diabate tries to improve position but can't.
Jonhson fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jonhson trying to control the position but Diabate is working away.
Jonhson is working to tighten his grip on Diabate's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Diabate has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jonhson is really squeezing tight and eventually Diabate passes out! Jonhson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
