Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elton Korth (ranked 5849 p4p, 513 weight class) and Khabib Askren (ranked 3196 p4p, 332 weight class). Korth comes to the cage accompanied by The Game Feat. Lil Wayne - Red Nation. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elton Korth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khabib Askren!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korth throws out a loose jab but Askren uses good head movement to avoid it.
It seemed like Askren was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A low kick from Korth is predictable there
and Askren counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Elton Korth has been cut.
Korth jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Askren with the counter takedown but Korth avoids it easily.
Nice defenses there by Askren.
Askren looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Korth has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Askren has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Korth tries to throw a body punch but Askren avoids it by throwing Korth back against the cage.

Askren tries to pull guard but Korth won't allow it.

Korth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Askren dives in and grabs Korth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Korth pushes down on Askren's head and hops out.
Korth went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Korth looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Askren takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Korth throws a right hand that Askren ducks under and follows up with a left that Askren also avoids with ease.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Korth moves in looking to clinch but Askren pushes him off.
Elton Korth is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Korth lands with a slapping head kick.
Korth shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Askren eats them both and turns towards Korth to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Korth loads up on a big right hand but Askren slips the punch.

and Askren makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Korth throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Korth connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Askren misses with a right hand
and Korth counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Askren is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Askren dodges the punch combination from Korth.
A decent looking cross lands there for Korth.
Korth tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Askren manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
An inside leg kick lands from Korth.

and Askren counters with a single leg into guard. Korth didn't expect that.
Askren trying to control the position from guard on top but Korth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Korth uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Askren.
It looked like Korth wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Askren is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Korth.

Askren jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Korth is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Korth and Askren has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Korth is not content to let Askren control the position.

Askren wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Korth, who protects the arm well.

Askren is working to tighten his grip on Korth's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Korth has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Askren is really squeezing tight and eventually Korth passes out! Askren breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
