Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Glitter (ranked 4949 p4p, 561 weight class) and Ben Elliot (ranked 6040 p4p, 620 weight class). Elliot has chosen Dropkick Murphys - I'm Shipping Up To Boston as his entrance music. Ben Elliot told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elliot scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Glitter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Elliot throws a looping overhand right but Glitter ducks down to avoid it.
Glitter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A nice side step and Elliot releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Glitter throws a leg kick but Elliot sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Elliot lands a head shot.
Elliot takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Glitter staying out of range there.
Glitter appears to be looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Glitter falls off balance throwing a combination
and Glitter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Elliot's corner calls for a 1-2. Elliot obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Elliot throws a jab but it's blocked by Glitter.
Glitter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Death Valley Training Facility in the buildup to the fight.
Elliot clobbers Glitter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Elliot ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Glitter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Elliot cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Elliot throws a big shot that misses.
Glitter ducks under a wild hook from Elliot.
Elliot throws a shot from downtown. Glitter moves away and avoids it.
Elliot throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Glitter on the side of the head.

Elliot's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Elliot's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Oh Glitter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Elliot scores with a counter punch that sends Glitter to the canvas! Elliot smells blood - he's punishing Glitter with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Glitter has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
