Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Davidson!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davidson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Davidson lands in his opponent's guard.
Davidson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Davidson advances position into side control!
Knight is pushing Davidson's head away, looking to escape. Davidson manages to hold on to the position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knight is looking for a sweep.
Davidson tries to score with some ground and pound. Knight controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Davidson stands up.

Davidson drives through with a takedown into Knight's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Knight dives in for a single leg takedown but Davidson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Davidson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Davidson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dave Davidson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Knight looking for a guillotine here but Davidson defends easily.
Davidson wants to control from the top but Knight keeps moving.
Davidson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Davidson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Knight napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Knight tries to work over Davidson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Knight pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Davidson jumps guard and drags Knight to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Davidson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Knight defends it easily.
Davidson is trying to keep Knight in close.

Davidson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Knight doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Knight manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Davidson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Davidson has his foot on Knight's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Knight works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Knight trying to control the position from guard on top but Davidson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Knight slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Knight content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Knight has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Davidson is proving hard to escape from.
Knight could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Davidson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Knight manages to get himself to full guard.

Dave Davidson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knight is really struggling to control Davidson but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Knight gets to his feet - Davidson follows without any prompting.

Davidson shoots in and bounces Knight off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well Davidson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
