Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeremiah Bentley (ranked 24439 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Shaft (ranked 6037 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bentley throws a half hearted mid kick.
Shaft misses with a body kick.

Shaft drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bentley wants to stand up but Shaft is controlling him.

Bentley has his foot on Shaft's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shaft works his way back into a safe position though.
Bentley wants to get back to his feet but Shaft is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Shaft stopping the sweep attempt from Bentley.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bentley holds on and takes a little breather.

Bentley scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Shaft looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bentley kicks Shaft off and gets back to his feet.
Bentley keeps the fight on the outside.

Shaft feints and as Bentley raises his hands in defense, Shaft changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bentley pushes Shaft off and scrambles back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bentley misses with an attempted mid kick.
Shaft tries to clinch there but Bentley circles away.
Bentley appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
A low kick from Shaft is predictable there

and Bentley counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Shaft really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bentley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bentley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bentley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shaft manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bentley has Shaft in his guard.

Bentley striking off his back but it's not causing Shaft any problems.

Bentley is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Shaft presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Bentley stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Bentley has Shaft pressed against the cage, preventing Shaft from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Shaft turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Shaft manages to end up in side control.

Bentley bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Shaft throws a combination that misses

and Bentley moves into the clinch.
Shaft is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Shaft is trying to break free.

Shaft pulls guard.

Shaft looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bentley has picked Shaft up and slammed him! Shaft can't keep hold of the triangle and Bentley manages to pass to side control!
Bentley advances to full mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bentley looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Bentley has isolated one of Shaft's arms. Shaft looking to fight him off but Bentley twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
