Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Efrain Velasquez (ranked 24845 p4p, 0 weight class) and SD Blayze (ranked 24574 p4p, 0 weight class). Efrain Velasquez has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Efrain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, SD Blayze!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blayze swats away the attempt to clinch by Velasquez.
And Blayze tries to counter it with a takedown but Velasquez pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Velasquez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Velasquez keeping full guard, as Blayze tries to pass.
Blayze not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Blayze wanted to stand there but Velasquez had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blayze trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Velasquez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Velasquez wants to stand and escape but Blayze is having none of it.

Velasquez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Blayze closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Blayze stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Velasquez to get to his feet.
Blayze misses the shot to the body.
SD Blayze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blayze fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Velasquez to the ground. Blayze is now in Velasquez's guard.

Velasquez kicks Blayze off and gets to his feet.

Blayze shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Blayze showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Velasquez is looking to control Blayze's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Velasquez avoid being mounted?

Velasquez wants to get back to his feet.

Blayze wants to control but Velasquez is keeping him busy.
Blayze is thwarting Velasquez's attempts to control the position.
Velasquez holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Blayze throws a big elbow that misses.
Blayze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Velasquez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Velasquez controls Blayze momentarily but Blayze frees himself.
Blayze controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Blayze is looking to work some ground and pound but Velasquez has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

SD Blayze dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Velasquez tries to roll over but Blayze keeps him under control.
Blayze seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Velasquez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Velasquez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blayze swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blayze lands with a nice combination. Velasquez backs away looking to recover.
Blayze displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Velasquez.

The fight stays on the outside here - Velasquez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Blayze bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Velasquez is trying to control Blayze's posture but Blayze avoids it.

Blayze working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Blayze stands up and beckons Velasquez to his feet.

Blayze drives through with a takedown into Velasquez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Blayze is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Velasquez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Blayze.
Oh Velasquez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blayze is taking a breather. Velasquez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Velasquez seems to have got his legs back now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Blayze throws a right and a left that Velasquez avoids nicely.
Velasquez is looking for a counter combo.

Velasquez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Blayze to keep the fight standing.

Blayze has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Velasquez is trying to keep an underhook but Blayze manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Blayze sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Velasquez wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Blayze.

Velasquez is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Velasquez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Velasquez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blayze is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Velasquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Blayze works over Velasquez with some ground and pound from guard.
Velasquez looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Blayze has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Blayze decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Velasquez, up you get!

Blayze fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Velasquez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Velasquez gets caught napping as Blayze dives in and scores a takedown. Velasquez manages to retain guard.

Blayze manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Velasquez on his heels. He'll look to pass Velasquez's guard now, I'm sure.
Velasquez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Blayze controls the pace.

SD Blayze is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

SD Blayze comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Blayze has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
