The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanagul goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Tanagul fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tanagul tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tola defends well and Tanagul ends up having to push Tola into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Tola tries a quick counter leg kick but Tanagul is wise to it.
Tola shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tanagul pinned against the cage. Tanagul gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Tanagul shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tola eats them both and turns towards Tanagul to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Tola is trying to drag Tanagul to the mat but Tanagul just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Tola tries to pull guard but Tanagul holds him up against the cage and eventually Tola drops back down to his feet.
Tola has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tanagul is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Tanagul wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tola has him pressed against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Tanagul will probably get the nod.

Tola ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tola no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
