Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roland Begovic (ranked 2356 p4p, 327 weight class) and Asmund Sykk (ranked 2975 p4p, 400 weight class). Begovic comes into the arena with Cavoglave blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Begovic throws a shot from downtown. Sykk moves away and avoids it.
Sykk fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Begovic does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roland Begovic dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We've been told by Begovic's head coaches at Xtreme Fighting Systems that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Sykk stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Begovic.

Sykk throws a hook to the side of Begovic's head but Begovic sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Roland Begovic is winning the standup battle so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Begovic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Begovic takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Begovic lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sykk has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sykk and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Begovic walks straight into a right hand from Sykk - that's dropped him! Sykk jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Begovic from any more punishment! Begovic complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
