The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Iyagbor instigates a clinch.
Bectic tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bectic is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Iyagbor to keep the fight standing.

Iyagbor pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Iyagbor is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Iyagbor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bectic gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bectic is looking to stand up but Iyagbor won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bectic working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Iyagbor pushes Bectic off and scrambles back to his feet.

Iyagbor shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Iyagbor showed some decent athleticism there.

Bectic is trying to control but can't.
Iyagbor is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Iyagbor scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Iyagbor connects with a nice short shot to Bectic's temple.
Bectic wants to control but Iyagbor is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Iyagbor is taking a breather. Bectic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Iyagbor seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bectic for as long as he can get away with.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Iyagbor wants to work for an arm triangle but Bectic is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Iyagbor looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Bectic is rocked!
Iyagbor gets to his feet and stands over Bectic, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Bectic felt that one! Iyagbor unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Bectic from any more punishment!
