The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer throws a poor cross that misses
and Vale counters with a low kick, right behind Archer 's knee.
Vale has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Archer finds it's way round the side to connect with Vale's head.
Vale blocks a jab.
Vale tries a head kick but it misses.
Vale takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Vale shoots in for a takedown but Archer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Archer is looking to counter the offense by Vale and move into the clinch.
Archer misses with a straight right.

Vale steps into range and cracks Archer with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Archer flops backwards and Vale dives into his guard looking to finish!

It looks like Andre Archer has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Archer is trying to keep Vale in close.
Vale stands and throws Archer's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Archer is trying to control Vale's posture but Vale avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Archer is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Vale is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Archer's shoulder. That is not cool.

Vale has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Archer is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vale yanks on the arm and Archer is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vale.

Bart Vale decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
