Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean Claude Van Damme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahmad Abdallah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abdallah has chosen California Love as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdallah fails with an attempt to clinch.
Van Damme rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Abdallah moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Abdallah tries to clinch but Van Damme is having none of it.
Abdallah throws a head kick that misses.
No joy there for Van Damme, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Van Damme throws a nice looking combination but Abdallah bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Van Damme keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Van Damme misses with a low kick.

Abdallah shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abdallah wants to pass the guard but Van Damme is keeping the position.
Abdallah works over Van Damme with some ground and pound from guard.

Van Damme knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Abdallah on the ground.

Abdallah shoots in looking for a takedown. Van Damme tries to sprawl out of it but Abdallah keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Van Damme manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

letting Van Damme counter with a right hand.
Oooh a lovely combination from Van Damme sends Abdallah down but not out. Van Damme dives into side control looking to finish.

Abdallah is rocked!
Abdallah tries to buck Van Damme off but Van Damme is having none of it.

Van Damme decides to stand up, so the ref orders Abdallah to his feet.
Abdallah wants to clinch but Van Damme slips to the side

and Van Damme counters with a left and a right that hurts Abdallah! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Van Damme jumps into full mount!
Abdallah is still in real trouble! Can Van Damme finish him?

Abdallah seems to have recovered his senses.

Van Damme's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Abdallah keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Abdallah is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Abdallah tries to hold on but Van Damme postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Abdallah shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Abdallah fails with the takedown.
Jean Claude Van Damme is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Van Damme lands a really nice looking cross but Abdallah seems unphased.
Abdallah tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Abdallah shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Van Damme pinned against the cage. Van Damme gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Van Damme counters with a one-two to the body.
Van Damme throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Van Damme counters with a left and a right that stings Abdallah.
Abdallah is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Van Damme connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Abdallah to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Van Damme!
