Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ture Torped (ranked 8261 p4p, 749 weight class) and Solomon Obasi (ranked 23871 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ture Torped!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Solomon Obasi!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torped scores with a jab.
Obasi has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Torped swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Obasi counters by moving into the clinch.
Come on Torped - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Obasi tries to pull guard but Torped won't allow it.

Torped looking to sit in guard and control but Obasi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Obasi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Torped is proving hard to escape from.
Torped knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Obasi on the ground.

Obasi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Torped uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Obasi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Torped sprawls well. Torped wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Obasi gets slowly back to his feet.
Torped throws a big counter combination but Obasi scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Torped scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Obasi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Torped is fending him off so far but Obasi persists. Nope, Torped circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Obasi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

No luck for Obasi with that takedown attempt.

and Torped counters with a left and a right that stings Obasi.

Obasi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Obasi lands in his opponent's guard.
Obasi tries to stand but Torped is controlling from the bottom.
Obasi is fighting to break Torped's control of his arms but Torped is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Obasi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Torped swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Torped cracks Obasi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Obasi tries to counter by closing the distance.
Obasi shoots in looking for a takedown but Torped manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Obasi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Obasi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ture Torped is winning the standup battle so far.
Torped connects with a jab.

Obasi gets a double leg takedown into Torped's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Torped manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Torped lands a body punch.
Obasi jumps guard but Torped turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Torped creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Torped lands a nice shot to the body.

Torped pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Obasi goes for a double leg but Torped avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Torped continues to drive forward.
Ture Torped has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Solomon Obasi.
Torped jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Torped drops Obasi with a big left hand and mounts him. Obasi is in big trouble!
Ture Torped has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!


Obasi is rocked!

Torped looking to control but Obasi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Obasi is still in real trouble! Can Torped finish him?
Obasi is desperately trying to improve his position but Torped has a good base and remains in mount.
Obasi seems to have recovered his senses.
Torped looking to ground and pound but Obasi is blocking nicely.
Obasi keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Torped can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Obasi is looking to escape.
You get the feeling that Obasi really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Torped punching from mount but Obasi doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Torped working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Obasi slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

Torped wants to lay and pray for a moment but Obasi keeps working.

Solomon Obasi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Torped sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Obasi defending well though.

Ture Torped showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Obasi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
